Subject: Returning SRC sponsor – Visit Tucson
This week we are pleased to advise that Visit Tucson (https://www.visittucson.org) has committed to continue their significant financial support, for the 2021 SRC Championship being conducted at Whistle Bear Golf Club on September 13th (practice round) and September 14th (Championship).
This is the third year that good folks at Visit Tucson have provided financial support for the SRC Championship and we thank them for their ongoing funding.
We have all endured some significant challenges over the past year and soon, when COVID is under control and the borders open, we will be able to travel outside of Canada. So now is a good time to think about rewarding yourself with a golf trip to Tucson, in the fall/winter of 2021, and to thank Visit Tucson for their ongoing support of the Senior Ryder Cup.
Tucson is a desert oasis that lures golfers with 40 courses and more than 300 days a year of sun.
An excellent starting point is the amenities-laden Omni Tucson National Resort, with two courses in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The traditional-style Catalina course is home to this week’s PGA Tour Champions Cologuard Classic (check Golf Channel for TV times). The Tom Lehman designed Sonoran course provides a true native desert experience, offering players the opportunity to approach each hole in a variety of ways.
Another must-play is Sewailo Golf Club, created by Native American and former PGA Tour professional Notah Begay III and Ty Butler. Sewailo blends the native landscape of Tucson with picturesque lakes and streams. A short drive north of Tucson, El Conquistador Golf & Tennis offers 36 holes of championship golf where you will play amid saguaro-capped hillsides and lush green fairways.
When you are not on the green, explore Tucson and beyond. Savor extraordinary borderlands cuisine, experience a vibrant nightlife and mesmerizing night sky views, or step into the beauty of the Sonoran Desert and recharge in surroundings that surround you.
